We have been getting request for a simple part for awhile now, an oil cap seal for Volkswagen and Audi Vehicles. Now this is not the sexiest part ever made but its beautiful in its simplicity. The oil cap seal rubber can deteriorate, harden and crack over time. The cap itself rarely if ever fails This will not typically result in a massive oil leak but will coat your engine compartment in a nice oil film for dirt to stick to.
Designing the oil cap seal was fairly straight forward as it is a simple part. What we did not expect to find during this process is the fact that VW and Audi have been using the same oil cap seal for over 25+ years. If your vehicle was manufactured between 1994 and 2020 chances are your car uses this seal there are a few exceptions (I'm looking at you Routan). There is not another auto part in existence that I can think of that has gone so unchanged and fits such a wide variety of models.
